What We Believe The “Jumpsuit” And “Nico And The Niners” Music Video Are All About

Twenty One Pilots have released a music video for their track “Nico And The Niners”, following the music video of their other brand new track “Jumpsuit” and shared that both are part of a 3-part story.

After watching both music videos a bunch of times, here’s what we believe the story is about so far.

Keep in mind, this is speculative. This is our honest opinion and thoughts about the new Twenty One Pilots releases so far:

It appears that in the “Nico And The Niners” music video, Tyler Joseph makes his escape from DEMA with a bunch of others, who we presume are the banditos (including Josh Dun).
If we have to guess, we believe the storyline of this music video comes before “Jumpsuit”, given the fact that the entire group is making their escape. In the music video for “Jumpsuit”, the banditos are on top of the trench, while Tyler Joseph is trapped in the trench with one of the bishops trying to lure him back to DEMA. This keeping in consideration, we believe that “Nico And The Niners” took place first, with the banditos escaping DEMA. Something happened, causing Tyler Joseph to be stuck in the trench while the rest of the banditos are on top of the trench. Perhaps the 3rd and last chapter of the story will unfold what happened to Tyler Joseph, causing him to be trapped with a bishop!

We later learned that Clancy, a character who was introduced on the dmaorg.info website via his letters, was in the trench at the same time the “Jumpsuit” music video was taking place. Whether he will play a more active role or will even make an appearance in the story hasn’t been revealed.

It could also very well be the other way around:

He leaves a sunflower in the drawer before he tries to escape. These flowers could be something he does before attempting to escape. If so, this isn’t the first attempt he’s making to escape DEMA. If this appears to be true, the chronology of the two music video’s could be Jumpsuit -> Nico And The Niners, instead of the other way around. Tyler Joseph gets taken by the bishop as shown in Jumpsuit and the banditos return to DEMA to help Joseph make his escape, as shown in the music video for “Nico And The Niners”.

Which way around do you think it is?

Easter eggs:

* Tyler Joseph grabs what appears to be the sunglasses from “Ride”, before taking off
* Tyler Joseph packs a red beanie before taking off.
* Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun meet up and do the handshake known from the “Stressed Out” music video.
* The music video shows the bird from the “Trench” album art
* Obviously everything is yellow. The flower, the outfits, Josh Dun’s new drums
