Let’s get real for a minute, shall we. We know this kind of article comes around a couple times a year, so let’s break it down for you.

Hereditary was premiered at the Sundance Festival very early this year, which was followed by a series of tweets from attendees, claiming that this new flick left them traumatized, even claiming several attendees left the movie during.

A couple months later, the release date is coming closer and closer and the tweets about the original premiere at Sundance Festival have resurfaced all over the web in anticipation of the movie’s cinema release, which is later this month.

So, this is what the new horror movie is about:
“The Graham family starts to unravel following the death of their reclusive grandmother. Even after she’s gone, the matriarch still casts a dark shadow over the family, especially her loner teenage granddaughter, Charlie, whom she always had an unusual fascination with. As an overwhelming terror takes over their household, their peaceful existence is ripped apart, forcing their mother to explore a darker realm in order to escape the unfortunate fate they’ve inherited.”

According to Thrillist, critics have left the cinema traumatized by this flick, some even walked out during the movie and the screams that echoed the cinema were real.

Writer/director Aaron Morgan shared on Twitter that he had never had his stomach turn because of a movie, but Hereditary has a moment in the movie that made him almost lose it.

Justin Chang, a film critic for the LA Times commented that “HEREDITARY isn’t just the freakiest thing I’ve seen in ages, but by far the most emotionally upsetting. Never feels like a tease; every scare has a very cruel purpose. Toni Collette astonishes. Couldn’t have asked for a more satisfying end to my #Sundance2018.”

The list of critics leaving chilling messages like those after seeing the flick at Sundance Festival earlier this year goes on and on and on, making you wonder whether they are not indeed on to something.

Luckily, we don’t have to wait that much longer. Hereditary will hit the cinemas in the United States of America on the 8th of June. The flick will be in cinemas worldwide on various dates throughout the summer.

Check out the trailer below and please, do let us know whether this is indeed one or even the scariest movie you’ve ever seen. We would love your feedback!
