Tarja Covers Linkin Park, Slipknot & More

Something spectacular happened this Wednesday. Finnish metal/opera singer-songwriter Tarja Turunen performed a few songs at a special event called Wacken Metal Church. The performance in front of only 300 lucky fans took place in a small church in Germany as a part of the legendary Wacken Open Air festival. 

Besides playing her own songs like ‘I Walk Alone’, Tarja covered not only the Nightwish classic ballad ‘Sleeping Sun’, but also classical pieces by Puccini, Schubert or Strauss. And that´s not all! 

For this special occasion, the setlist included covers of Linkin Park, Rammstein, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold and other famous metal bands.

Tarja´s unique voice was accompanied by piano, violin and cello. The show was recorded and might be released in the future. A small part of the soundcheck and some of the songs were streamed live on Periscope that night.
