The writers from the chilling horror Netflix show "The Haunting Of Hill House" have some good news for their fans.

The brothers Michael and Paul Clarkson have joined forces with BBC and are now working on a new horror series, "Red Rose"!

The two announced the great news on their Instagram.

According to Deadline , “the series follows a disparate group of teenagers, adrift in the long hot summer following GCSEs, hanging out on the Bolton moors with little sense of direction or purpose now that school is over.” The Deadline reports “Rumours circulate of the Red Rose app, an urban legend that blooms on the smartphones of teenagers, encouraging them to undertake a series of challenges increasingly dangerous in its demands."

This still feels unreal, but we have an announcement – WE’VE HAD OUR FIRST SHOW GREENLIT BY THE BBC!!!! It feels crazy to be sharing this with everyone, but we are so excited to not only run our own tv series, but for it to be set in our hometown. Red Rose is where Scream and The Ring meets Derry Girls, but set in present day Bolton! When we sat down and wrote ‘INT. THORNLEIGH SCHOOL CLASSROOM – DAY’ we felt giddy. Hopefully we’ll get the chance to film there, and see the town on screen through the high energy lens of an American genre film. Our show is commissioned by BBC Three, but will air on BBC One. We will be taking the Fleabag and Killing Eve slot, which is rather daunting. But we hope to do our best. So thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way, chatted with us or listened patiently to our stories, donated to our Kickstarter campaigns and encouraged us to persevere. Everything has contributed to this moment. We are incredibly excited to return to the UK after our stint in Los Angeles. We get to showcase the North of England in Red Rose. So to anyone who thinks we forgot our roots while we’ve been away, you can do one 😀 x #writers #bbc3 #bbc1 #wtf #newtvseries #derrygirls #fleabag #bolton
