Back when 13 Reasons Why originally came out on the 31st of March 2017 via Netflix, the Netflix Original very quickly became one of the biggest shows the streaming service has ever had.

No wonder, that after the massive success of the first season, it was revealed that the show would get a second season. The second season’s release date hasn’t been announced yet, but bits and pieces are falling into place, as multiple actors as well as producers and writers from the show have spoken to the press about what the second season will be about.

Who’s going to be playing centerpieces in it? Will there be new characters? And will we still see Hannah Baker in the second season? Those questions have all been answered, and in the upcoming weeks, we’ll have a recap for you of all the information we have so far on the upcoming season of the popular show.

With all these answers being given, it was bound to happen that someone was going to ask whether there is already talk of a third season and the answer is yes!

Paramount President Amy Powell spoke to Hollywood Reporter about 13 Reasons Why and its showrunner Brian Yorkey. In this interview, Powell shared that Yorkey has already given some serious thought to what could be next for the immense popular show after the second season.

She shared:
“We’re not going to pressure him to create more seasons if he doesn’t feel they are there, but he is already starting to think about what a Season 3 could be,” Powell shared.

“Yorkey was reticent to come back for a second season until he could crack it. He didn’t want to commit to it blindly until he knew how to find an entry point into these characters and their stories.”

While this doesn’t mean that a third season will actually happen, it could very well be that we will in fact see more episodes after the second season.
