I went to Berea College for 5 semesters from 2011-2013. During the first two, I was on track for a Physics major, but switched into a Music major my sophomore year. I come from a very academic family, my father being a librarian and my mother an Art and Music teacher. In high school, I was recruited for a program called the Aspirnaut Initiative with Vanderbilt University where I participated as an intern in biomedical research being conducted in their Center for Matrix Biology.
After becoming rather paranoid about academic institutions due to some conspiracy theories I had been exposed to in my college years, I neglected my official studies in favor of independent research into the Western Esoteric Tradition, a topic my college did not offer courses on. At the time, I thought this was because that tradition was secretly embedded into the fabric of our society. Though I have since confirmed that this is indeed the case, I also came to realize that just because such traditions are embedded into the fabric of society doesn't mean they are fulfilling their function effectively. In fact, if they were, I wouldn't know about them. Fascinatingly, there has been a massive surge in academic coverage of the Western Esoteric Tradition in recent years, perhaps because many young people like myself have been speaking up about their discoveries in this field.
